HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION

SENIOR CAST: GRADES 7 - 2024 GRADS *

Delivering a deeply resonant and defiantly hopefully theatrical experience, this intriguingly beautiful folk opera follows two intertwining love stories - that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of the immortal King Hades and his Lady Persephone. HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION brings stories from Greek mythology into the modern day, taking us on a journey to the underworld and back again. Inspired by traditions of classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, Anais Mitchell’s beguiling sung-through musical pits industry against nature, doubt against faith, and fear against love.

* Performers must be 18 or younger at the time of auditions, and not yet begun secondary education of any kind.
